MIAMI, Fla. (www.sonyopentennis.com) – As one of the largest and most prestigious tennis tournaments in the world, the Sony Open is seeking volunteers to work the 2013 event, March 18 – March 31 at the Crandon Park Tennis Center.
The Sony Open will host an all-star playing field with Novak Djokovic, Serena Williams, Rafael Nadal, Maria Sharapova, Andy Murray, Venus Williams, Victoria Azarenka and many more as they descend on South Florida to compete for the illustrious title.
There are an abundant variety of positions that volunteers will be used for such as court ushers, transportation, guest safety and ticket takers just to name a few. The qualifying rounds begin Monday, March 18 followed by the main draw beginning March 19.
Along with the fantastic experience of working behind the scenes at one of the largest tennis events in the world, volunteers receive a great gift package including, but not limited to complimentary tickets, free Fila uniforms, sponsor gifts, parking and meals during the volunteer’s shifts.
The Sony Open asks their volunteers they work a minimum of 45 hours (normally nine five-hour shifts) and because they are usually flexible, a volunteer has the luxury to work around their own work commitments.
The execution of the Sony Open event will require more than 900 volunteers, which makes it the largest volunteer presence for any tennis tournament in the world.
To get involved, please visit our website at www.sonyopentennis.com or contact the Volunteer Office at 305-444-0533 or e-mail volunteers@sonyopentennis.com.
