MIAMI, Fla. (www.sonyericssonopen.com) – The Sony Ericsson Open is continuing to uphold its reputation as one of the most anticipated stops on both the ATP and WTA tours not only because of the tremendous tennis, but the excitement off the court as well. The Sony Ericsson Open provides a two-week entertainment experience with daily on-site live performances and off-site guest appearances around South Florida.

With the expansion and improvement of the Sony Ericsson Entertainment Stage this year, the Sony Ericsson Open will host an array of performances including live musicians, dance acts, and presentations of exotic animals by Miami Metro Zoo and Jungle Island. The Sony Ericsson Entertainment Stage will also serve as host to the series of scheduled Q&A’s throughout the tournament including FILA Friday night.

For the seventh consecutive year, FILA, the official clothing sponsor of the Sony Ericsson Open, will host its annual FILA Friday night on March 25th at 6pm on the Sony Ericsson Entertainment Stage. During this time, FILA sponsored players will be available for questions and answers from fans in attendance.

Sony Ericsson Open activities are not only limited to ticket holders either, but extend throughout the South Florida community. For the fifth consecutive year the Sony Ericsson Open is taking tennis to the people through its Party Tour, taking place during the first week of the tournament. The tour has two stops this year with the first at CocoWalk in Coconut Grove on Thursday, March 24 at 7:00p.m. The area, known for its boutiques, restaurants, and night clubs will transform into a tennis extravaganza giving fans a chance to enjoy much of what the Sony Ericsson Open has to offer. The following night, Friday March 25, at 7:00p.m., the tour moves to a newly added location, the Bayside Marketplace.

Each event will include a live broadcast from Power 96 FM who will be spinning the hottest music. Tennis enthusiasts can watch the pros on a large video board featuring highlights from the 2010 Sony Ericsson Open, have the opportunity to win some giveaways, and get autographs from ATP and WTA Tour players.

The Sony Ericsson Open events at CocoWalk and Bayside Marketplace are free and open to the public.
